✔ China is also renowned for its street foods, natural landscape, etc. Jianbing is one of the most famous street foods in China.

✔ Street foods are the most famous in China. The most famous traditional street food in China is Dumplings.

✔ Some of the most famous street foods in China are Dumplings, Xi’an Pancakes, Beijing Pancakes, Steamed Buns, Thick riceballs, and so on.

✔ Among all of them, some of the famous street foods in China are mentioned below with their recipes:

 

  1. Xi’an Pancakes (Xian Bing)  

✔ Xi’an Pancakes which is a famous Chinese street food in China is also known as Xian Bing in the traditional Chinese language.

✔ Xian Bing is also sometimes known as meat pie, meat pockets, and even a big dumpling. Xi’an Pancakes are sometimes compared to pot stickers.

  How to prepare Xi’an Pancakes?  

✔ At first, while preparing Xi’an Pancakes we have to prepare a dough by mixing flour and water properly. Put some amount of oil into it and mix it properly. Cover and let it rise for 30 minutes.

✔ After that cut a roll of dough and fill & flatten the dough properly. After that add the ground pork, scallions, soy sauce, sesame oil, white pepper, and brown sugar into a bowl mix it properly, and cover with plastic wrap.

How to prepare Xi'an Pancakes

✔ Now prepare the scallion ginger butter. Put the butter and ginger into a food processor and pulse until the mixture is pure.

✔ After preparing it prepare the Chinese meat pie. After that take out the dough and roll it properly to fill the mixture. Fill the mixture properly in the rest of the dough.

✔ Add some oil to the pan and heat it properly. After that put the dough in the pan and cook it until it is golden brown in color and crispy. Cook each side properly.

✔ After preparing all the Pancakes we can serve them with additional toppings as per our wish. We can also serve it with scallion ginger butter and chilli paste.

✔ Beijing Pancakes is another one of the most famous street foods in China. Beijing Pancakes is also known as Jianbing.

  How to prepare Beijing Pancakes?  

✔ first, while preparing Beijing Pancakes boil the water and stir it in a large bowl. Set aside until cool down. When the dough is still hot, it can be quite sticky and hard to knead,

✔ Now knead until smooth dough and cover for the rest of 20 minutes. Take out the dough and divide it into small portions.

How to prepare Beijing Pancakes

✔ If we are preparing fried pancakes take one portion out and flatten. Brush oil on the surface. Transfer to a hot pan and cover it properly. Cook until air pockets appear.

✔ After cooking it properly place it on a plate and always cover it with clothes. Tear the two pieces apart when the pancake is still warm.

  How to prepare Chinese Steamed Buns?  

✔ At first, while preparing Chinese Steamed Buns we have to mix flour, yeast, sugar, and warm water in a bowl. Allow to sit for 30 minutes.

✔ Again mix the remaining flour, sugar, vegetable oil, salt, and warm water. Knead the dough until it is smooth and elastic. Transfer to a greased bowl, and roll to coat with oil.

How to prepare Chinese Steamed Buns

✔ After this punch down dough and spread out on a floured board. Sprinkle the baking powder on the top of the dough and knead for 5 minutes.

✔ Now divide the dough in half and divide into equal pieces. Shape each into a ball and transfer to a small square of waxed paper with the smooth surface facing up. And keep it for 30 minutes.

✔ Now bring some water to a boil in a wok.  Place the steam plate on a small wire rack in the middle of the wok. Now, place buns on waxed paper squares onto the steam plate, leaving 1 to 2 inches between buns.

✔ Now cover and steam the buns for 15 minutes. After sometimes remove the lid carefully and continue steaming the remaining buns until all are cooked.

✔ In this way, we can prepare one of the most famous street foods of China called Chinese Steamed Buns easily.

 

  4. Tanghulu  

✔ Tanghulu is another one of the most famous street food in China which is also sometimes known as Candied Fruit.

✔ It is considered one of the healthiest foods to try in China. Tanghulu is the easiest Chinese street food to prepare.

 

  Ingredients to prepare Tanghulu  

a. Fruits
b. Granulated Sugar
c. Water
d. Skewers

 

  How to prepare Tanghulu?  

✔ At first, while preparing Tanghulu, we have to clean the fruits and let them dry for a while. Insert the pieces of fruit onto the wooden skewers and set them aside.

Now add the sugar and water together and bring to a boil over medium heat. Now taste the sugar mixture with a spoon

How to prepare Tanghulu

✔ Dip the spoon in the mixture then back into the ice-cold water, if it hardens it’s ready. Dip the fruit in the sugar candy coating then shake off any excess sugar.

✔ Now dip the fruit skewers into the hot sugar syrup and quickly dip the fruit into a bowl of ice water to allow the hot syrup to harden.

✔ Now, the Tanghulu is prepared and we have it with some additional dishes as per our wish. In this way, we can prepare the famous Chinese street food most efficiently.
